I witnessed an interesting sequence of events last week. I visited Kanpur to join my neighbor’s marriage. As usual, I observed all Hindu wedding rituals without a wink throughout night. The next fine morning, I had bath and went for J K Temple there in Kanpur. Temple was amazing in all dimension: grandeur, fine architecture and green lash garden creating a perfect backdrop of the temple. I had couple of pictures there. Then I left for Kanpur Central Railway Station. Now funny things started happening
1) I was to board on train for Delhi from Kanpur RS at 9 am in the morning. Train was running 8 hours late. I kept my baggage in Clock room at 11:00 am and went for City tour (on foot for 20 km long :-)).
2) I came back to station clock-room to collect my baggage. I lost clock room receipt meanwhile. I have Identity cards(Passport and Driving Licence) to proof myself as original owner of the baggage.
3) Clock room officer told it would take 2 days for all these process to claim my baggage. After 2 hours persuasion to Clock room staff, I decided to follow the process.
4) I went Kanpur Court and caught a notary Advocate. He made an I- bond of 110 INR.
5) Then I went GRP Police station and submitted an application for FIR. You may imagine the effort in getting two blank pages and one carbon copy in new city(30 mins affair).
6) Thereafter I went Parcel Head office and needed their stamp and signature on above two papers. The office was closed by that time. I paid INR 100 as bribe there to a peon for all these favor/help. Then how to get two witnesses to sign on my I-bond was a different story.
7) I came to Clock room. Now the person of morning shift had been changed and evening shift officer told that only the same person (who accepted the bag in the morning) can verify all these. I called the morning staff and it took another couple of hours. He came and verified all the items. My Sincere thanks to the Morning staff. It is now 9pm in the night. I was feeling hungry after all these funs :-)
8) The train came at 8:40pm after 12 hour late. I boarded the train and came to know there is no more food in the train. I had some grapes. I was Hopeful I may reach Delhi in Mid night by 3pm.
9) I reached old Delhi station at 10 am in the morning and Vasantkunj by 11:30 am. I had bath and cooked some lunch. I ate like a hunger (Bhukhkhar :-) by 1.00 pm.
10) I missed my office on Monday. I called my manager and asked for 1 day leave. Then I enjoyed rest of the day with my favorite pastime slumbering(sleeping) without dream.
I hope you all have enjoyed the beautiful narration of my journey.
Thanks.
